Guest Testimonials

“Hi Garry and Barb,
Just a quick note to thank you for the $40 you sent on to us on the water taxi, you should have just kept it and told us to come and get it, a good excuse to come and enjoy your hospitality again. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you… your  accommodation, food and service were the highlight of our time on the Queen Charlotte Track. (And brother Pete was tickled pink to get his camera back that he left on the track).”

Rex and Kath Howe. New Zealand.

“Hi Garry and Barb.
Firstly thanks for forwarding my camera on to Portage that I left on the track when we stopped for lunch, it got there before we did. Secondly, many thanks for your superb hospitality during our stay. That beer on arrival went down a treat!!! The rooms were superb and the evening meal was all we could of wished for… delightful. Also thanks for your honesty regarding the overcharge on the wine (we hadn’t given it a thought) and for forwarding the refund to our next stop. It was great to meet you both and an excellent “first night” on the track.”
Pete & Gae Howe, New Zealand.

“Dear Garry Barbara and Ash,
Many thanks for the fabulous the night of the 2nd of March. (We were the group from Noosa that arrived dripping wet with our fearless guide Adrianna). Nothing on the Queen Charlotte Track could match your hospitality, rooms or dining. We all agreed that next time we will all just stay with you for 3 nights at the No Road inn and tramp each day from there. We are still raving about the Whitebait pancakes, fresh salads, fish, lamb etc all seemingly so effortlessly prepared yet so perfectly. If only every B&B could be set by your standards.”
Judy Vulkner (for the rest of the Noosa  mob.)

“After our first day on the Queen Charlotte Track your Inn was a beautiful and welcome haven.Who thought such a place existed? You and Barbara do such a seamless dinner presentation and sooo delicious, what a treat. Thank you so much.”

“To Wilderness Guides, Picton.
Just a quick thankyou for all your help booking my recent Queen Charlotte Track Tramp. Both my friend and I had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our walk.
The reason for this email is to thank you for booking us into the No Road Inn when our original accommodation next door to the No Road Inn was fully booked for a wedding. The No Road Inn was sensational-the rooms were first class, the meals 5 star and attention to detail to our every need impeccable. This was undoubtedly the accommodation highlight of our entire New Zealand stay. We would have have no hesitation in staying there again as a holiday experience whether tramping the Queen Charlotte Track or not. The more people you send  Garry and Barbara’s way the better for tourism New Zealand.”
Yours sincerely, Robert and Jane Giles. Australia.

“Hi gary and Barbara,
Thanks for the wonderful hospitality and being able to share your great Inn with us. You made our trip very special especially for Johns birthday, which was most appreciated. We had a great time and enjoyed our trip and so pleased to have good weather.  We have attached some photos of the birds on Motuara Island and of you cooking us that fantastic evening meal.”
John and Lesley D’Rose.

“Hi Garry,
Finished the Queen Charlotte Walk at 1.30 this afternoon. Just a quick email to thank you for organising the Scallop shells you gave us which we remembered 2 hours into our walk. We thought that of all our accommodation on our trip yours was the best lodge,-best lodge, best food, and best hostpitality. Whilst we will not be walking the Queen Charlotte Track again we will all thoroughly recommend  to anyone anyone else walking the Queen Charlotte Track to stay at the No Road Inn (As a must). and hopefully Graeme and I can get back to stay with you again.”
Graeme and Sandy Morcom, Australia.
